Pay Your Bill with a Payment Plan

MSU partners with Transact Campus to offer students and their authorized guest users an option for payment of tuition, fees, and university housing & meal plans in interest-free installments over the course of the semester. This option allows you to pay off your account in up to four payments for fall and spring semesters, and three payments for summer semester. There is a $40 non-refundable enrollment fee.

Eligibility

  • Any MSU student registered for classes for the upcoming semester is eligible to participate.
  • Your student account must be current. Balances from prior semesters cannot be included in a new semester payment plan.
  • Enrollment is not automatic. You must enroll each semester you would like to use it.
  • Subject to good payment history with MSU.

Do I have to sign up for a payment plan?

  • No, you have the option to pay your account in full by the initial due date.
  • If you will not be paying your account in full by the initial due date, then a payment plan must be established.

How does the payment plan work?

  • The enrollment fee and the required down payment are required to be paid when setting up the plan.
  • A student or third-party user can enroll in a payment plan each semester.
  • For fall and spring semesters, a 25% down payment is required at the time of enrollment, plus the $40 payment plan fee. The remaining balance will be paid in three equal amounts over the course of the semester. (if enrolled by certain date)
  • For summer semester, a 33% down payment is required at the time of enrollment, plus the $40 payment plan fee. The remaining balance will be paid in two equal amounts. (if enrolled by certain date)
  • If enrolling in the payment plan after one or more installment due dates have passed, the amount due to enroll will be increased by the missed installment, not split evenly between the remaining installments.
  • The payment plan amounts will not adjust automatically for new charges that occur after the payment plan has been established. You must go into the portal and accept the option to consolidate the payment plan amount for any new charges. The payment plan amounts will adjust automatically for any new credits on the account.
  • Payments can be made from a U.S. checking or savings account or from a credit or debit card. (A convenience fee will apply to all credit and debit card payments)
  • Scheduled payments are an option and can be automatically deducted using your payment method on the 1st of each month of the payment plan.

What if I have Anticipated Aid?

  • All aid is reflected as anticipated aid until approximately 10 days prior to the first day of class.
  • Please note that all necessary actions for federal loans need to be completed in order for the aid to pay.

Late Payments

  • A late payment fee of $30 will be assessed if payments are not received by the due date.
  • A financial hold will be placed on your student account.

Changes or Cancellations

  • MSU reserves the right to cancel your payment plan for failure to make payment when due.
