Everything You Need to Know About Paying Your Bill

All bills are provided electronically. You are responsible for paying tuition, fees, and all other charges by the due date on your bill. An email will be sent to you and any enrolled guests when you have a bill to review. Make sure you’re checking your MSU provided email account—that’s where we will send your billing notices and other official communications.

What’s on your bill?

Generally, tuition, fees, room and board, and university apartment rent. Other charges such as Education Abroad program fees, MSU Print, ID replacements and other miscellaneous charges will also be included.

Payment Options

Students have two options:

  • Pay the entire bill before the designated due date for that semester OR
  • Pay in monthly installments through the MSU Payment Plan

What if I have Anticipated Aid?

  • All financial aid is initially reflected as anticipated aid. Approximately 10 days prior to the first day of class, aid will begin to be disbursed as real aid.
  • Please note that all necessary actions for federal loans need to be completed in order for the aid to pay.

Who can View your Bill and Make Payment?

Students may provide guest access to parents, spouses, or others to allow them to view and pay the bill. Students can enroll their guests in the MSU Student Information system. Basic navigation is My Profile > Share My Info Electronically > Grant Access to a new guest. Guests will then receive an email and must follow the instructions to create the guest account.
